Kyles Rough Timeline + Some of Todays ideas
Timeline:
0:00 - 0:16 - Start black as instruments begin to come in, panels begin to appear with cycles:
1) guitar - wheels of train
2) tambourine - pan trees, telegraph pole to beat
3) chimney with smoke puffing out to beat
4) sillouettes dancing - camera trucks through to architect;
0:17 - 0:34 - crash zoom through crowd to architect sat at his table in the drink cart going over his designs one last time. Camera up and he looks quite pleased. Show invite for bridge unveiling and ribbon cutting ceremony. Acer Agundo can be seen at the bar.
0:35 - 0:46 - cutting between to train and crowd singing the song and shots of outside going by (maybe long shot at this point?)
0:46 - 1:23 - tension building - Joseph Bower gets up, leaving crowd, passing Agundo (who's watching him). Agundo follows. As song builds, faster cutting between Bower, train, crowd, Agundo. Bower makes it back to his private passenger car - Agundo opens door, as train enters a tunnel. Short flashes of light illuminating tense moments of struggle.
1:23 - 2:05 - as everything slows, long shot of train over bridge (up shot) as body is thrown from the train - everything slow cutting between body falling, crowd, train wheels, etc.
2:06 - 2:15 - start initial montage again, but when zooming past crowd, Agundo dressed as Bower (seems like bower) is gathering drawings.
2:15 - end - now to detroit where crowd has gathered. Close on mayor saying something, and crowds cheering - could be intercut with train's crowd. Train arrives, time passage. Ribbon is cut by Bower dressed character. Everyone cheers, corks are popped, Bower dressed turns and shakes hands with mayor. Close on hands - dark evil Agundo hands.
End
Other possible options to be worked in as filler, rhythmic devices, etc:
- Train chugging cycles, different angles and perspectives, w/ map (a la indiana jones) w/ snapshots of scenery passed by.
- Lots of Agundo hand shots - sinisiter hand motif
- Band playing for dancers
- Bar tender wiping counter cycle
- establishing detroit location by fading from Bower's drawings to bridge and crowd
- Agundo lighting cigarette
- Clouds passing overhead
If I forgot anything, post 'er up! and Drawings... DO IT UP!
